Lets make an old school VIDOCK

Its awesome that we've got everything figured out on the mPCI-E and expresscard to full PCI-E, but I want to pursue something for older laptops.
Basically I think for some people it would be very useful to build some things with PCI cards that have less standard video outputs, such as TTL or LVDS native to LCD panels.

Can we connect a desktop PCI card directly to PCMCIA cardbus?

I know it should probably work.
The only thing I want to figure out is what I can get that will be easy enough to solder this to PCI Riser Ribbon Card 32bit Extender Adapter Flex Cable - eBay (item 280530000049 end time Dec-31-10 10:57:21 PST)
And what kind of power it needs...

Thoughts, comments, etc?
